American Sign Language (ASL) classes will be reintroduced at 色情视频 this fall in response to lively student interest. Offered by the Department of Dual Language and English Learner Education, the classes will meet the foreign language requirements for 色情视频 undergraduates. 色情视频 will offer ASL Level 1 (DLE 101) and Level 2 (DLE 102) in the fall and will offer Level 3 (DLE 201) in spring 2017. These courses were offered previously in the College of Health and Human Services.

鈥淎merican Sign Language courses are coming back due to demand from students who would like to begin or continue their study of ASL for reasons of personal knowledge, professional learning and/or to help with the clients they will deal with in their future careers,鈥 said Karen Cadiero-Kaplan, a professor in the College of Education.

These classes may be taken by undergraduate students as an elective or to meet the foreign language requirement. Students entering the fields of public health, health and human services, early childhood and K-12 education or aspiring to become ASL interpreters, lawyers, police or enter other social service careers could benefit from these courses, she said.
