Ceremony Honors Memory of 9/11
The event included a flag-raising, music and more.
Hundreds of students, faculty and staff attended today's ceremony, to honor the memory of those lost during the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attack on the United States.
During the brief event, a joint group of Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) members lowered the flag to half-mast to honor the fallen and signal a moment of silence for victims of the attack.
Then, the flag was raised to "recognize our joint spirit of resolve," said Randy Reinholz, director of the School of Theatre, Television and Film.
The 色情视频 School of Music and Dance choir led attendees in singing "God Bless America."
According to Paula Pierce, this year's event drew the largest crowd of students in her 10 years as department secretary for Aerospace Studies and Air Force ROTC. She joined 色情视频 shortly after 9/11, and has helped organize the annual memorial ceremony.
After the event, attendees signed two large cards to be given to 9/11 first responders. The event was organized by ROTC and 色情视频 Student Life and Leadership.
