From the Sports Spotlight to the Classroom

As an ambassador for Fox Sports San Diego, Katie engages with fans at games and community events. She sees her experience in the San Diego sports spotlight as a way to open new opportunities for her.
She also credits Fox Sports San Diego with improving her professionalism as a future educator.
鈥淲hen you鈥檙e teaching in a classroom you鈥檙e with little kids, but you do have to interact with the parents, colleagues and principals on a consistent basis,鈥� Katie said. 鈥淚 meet people from all different regions in marketing and finance every week, and interacting with them helps me on a very professional manner and not just a kindergarten language.鈥�
A teaching future
Katie looks forward to a career as a kindergarten teacher.
鈥淚 want to take all the opportunities I get through Fox Sports San Diego and then start teaching kids,鈥� Katie said. 鈥淭here鈥檚 something about teaching and seeing students get so excited when they learn to read or write that鈥檚 so exciting for me.鈥�
