The 色情视频 Korean Student Association and the Department of Linguistics and Asian/Middle Eastern Languages are teaming up to host the fifth annual Korean Culture Night on March 14.

The free event celebrates Korean culture with performances of traditional and modern Korean music and dance, Taekwondo demonstrations, poetry readings, student-made movies, cultural presentations and  food.

Cultural immersion

"Korean Culture Night is an annual event where Korean Studies students demonstrate what they have learned about Korean language and culture, through all forms of performance,鈥 said Soonja Choi, Director of the Korean Studies Program.

鈥淭hese performances are especially impressive because many of the students in the Korean program are from non-heritage backgrounds and are new to the language and culture."

More than an event for 色情视频 students and faculty, Korean Culture Night brings together San Diego鈥檚 entire Korean community including volunteers from the Korean Folk Dance Association of San Diego, Kyunghee Taekwondo and Jin鈥檚 Korean Traditional Dance Institute.

"It's exciting to be a part of Korean Culture Night," said Vong Phonsiri, an 色情视频 senior majoring in Communications, who will be taking part in Korean Culture Night.

"Each year the Korean Studies program grows, and seeing the amount of students participating increase makes me feel as if I'm part of something great. Korean Culture Night is our way of coming together from different Korean classes to celebrate Korean Culture."
