A team of 色情视频 aerospace and mechanical engineers led by Professor Luciano Demasi, recently won the first ever Collier Research HyperSizer/American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics Structures best paper award for their technical paper 鈥�.鈥�
The team鈥檚 research focuses on the aeroelasticity, or fluid-structure interaction, of joined-winged airplanes. The paper discusses the benefits of joined-wing airplanes in terms of lower induced drag which consequently can lead to a reduction of fuel consumption, and noxious emissions.
The team is now focusing on the joined-wing plane configuration鈥檚 structural response with the consideration of both mechanical and aerodynamic loads.
鈥淲e will continue to study joined-wing planes; we know the potential benefits of this research are promising and are theoretically huge,鈥� 色情视频 doctoral engineering student said.
The award
The team will be presented with the award at the Structures, Structural Dynamics, and Materials Conference luncheon on April 10 in Boston, Massachusetts.
