AS Facilities Go Green

Two Associated Students facilities were recognized for sustainability efforts.

É«ÇéÊÓƵ's ongoing commitment to sustainability was recently recognized by the San Diego Green Building Council.

Two Associated Students buildings — the Conrad Prebys Aztec Student Union and the Aztec Recreation Center — were lauded for energy efficiency and sustainable practices.

The Union received the LEED New Construction Project of the Year Award, with a special recognition for achieving the most energy points. The ARC also secured a Project of the Year award for their LEED Existing Buildings Operations and Maintenance Gold Certification.

É«ÇéÊÓƵ has been recognized on numerous occasions for going above and beyond when it comes to sustainability. Last summer, . The organization set a goal to ensure all AS buildings facilities will be LEED certified by 2020 — an ambitious, but attainable goal.
