Last week, the U.S. Supreme Court declined to take up a key case dealing with the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, saying a lower court should rule on the case first. This development means DACA recipients will continue to receive the protections afforded to them under the program for now.

In response to this ruling, California State University Chancellor Timothy P. White sent a message to the CSU community that encouraged all eligible students and employees to apply to renew their DACA protections as soon as possible. are available throughout the state.

Additionally, immigration enforcement is the jurisdiction of the federal government and falls outside the scope of the University Police Department (UPD). The newly announced change does not change or influence the mission of UPD.
