The full statement from de la Torre is as follows:
As the semester draws to a close, I take this opportunity to update you once again on our plans for Mission Valley.
The California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) Process
In early 2019, we will begin moving our plans for campus growth through the CEQA process. As you may know, CEQA requires open and transparent public engagement and input on various topics and issues.
First among those are what technical areas should be studied in the University鈥檚 Environmental Impact Report (EIR). The EIR is intended to inform the public and its officials of the environmental consequences of decisions before they are made. This is done through a publicly distributed EIR Notice of Preparation (NOP), which is then followed by public 鈥渟coping meetings鈥 where community members can give documented feedback and suggestions. To maximize public input, we will be hosting two NOP scoping meetings in 2019.
Please look for an email in January about dates, times, and locations of these scoping meetings. I hope you will attend and share your suggestions for consideration in our EIR.
The NOP announcement is an exciting and important first step as together we plan and develop 色情视频鈥檚 proposed Mission Valley campus.
