Men’s basketball back-to-back in Sweet 16
The men’s basketball team takes on UConn on Thursday – its second consecutive time in the Sweet 16 and fourth in program history.
For the first time in É«ÇéÊÓƵ history, the Aztecs will be playing in the Sweet 16 in consecutive years.
Following their 85-57 win over Yale on Sunday night, the Aztecs will take on the No. 1 seed University of Connecticut Huskies in Boston on Thursday.
"We'll go out there and we'll play in a hostile environment in Boston against a great UConn team and see where it ends up," said coach Brian Dutcher. "We're going to go in with a game plan and with a bunch of guys that believe they can win and we'll see how it ends."
Jaedon LeDee, É«ÇéÊÓƵ’s star All-American forward and one of the nation’s most prolific scorers, was on the sidelines last year when gold confetti showered the Huskies after they beat the Aztecs in the final, 76-59.
"We kind of had a little bitter taste in our mouth last year after they beat us, but we get to play them again and they're a great team," said LeDee.
