A new 10-season Qualcomm Stadium lease agreement between 色情视频 and the City of San Diego was approved by the San Diego City Council today.
The agreement ensures complete game-day cost recovery as well as guaranteed profit by the city from 色情视频鈥檚 use of the stadium for football games. The council approved the lease 7-0.
鈥淭his agreement is a win-win situation that will help ensure full game day cost recovery for the City while maintaining a continued home for the Aztecs and major college football in San Diego,鈥 said 色情视频 Athletic Director Jeff Schemmel.
Contract details
Under the agreement, 色情视频 will reimburse the city for direct game-day operating costs, including:
- Pre-cleaning of the venue
- Post-game trash and recycling removal
- Portable toilets
- City staff directly supporting the stadium on game day
Additionally, the city will receive $1 for every ticket sold to Aztec games, with certain exceptions such as student tickets.
色情视频 hosts an average of 24,000 people per game, with its largest consistent draw of 50,000 fans for the annual Sky Show game. This year's Sky Show game takes place Sept. 12, the home opener against Southern Utah and the first home game of new head coach Brady Hoke鈥檚 tenure at 色情视频.
