San Diego Prevention Research Center Receives Two Awards
The academic-community organization was one of 11 nationwide prevention research centers honored.
was one of 11 prevention research centers (PRCs) nationwide to receive the National Community Committee's inaugural best-practices award this spring.
The award recognizes PRCs that make a significant effort to follow best practices in creating equal partnerships between academic and community members as a means of involving the community in all aspects of the research process. The National Community Committee is associated with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and is comprised of community representatives from all 37 PRCs.
The SDPRC also received the National Community Committee鈥檚 Community Partnership Engagement Award.
About the San Diego Prevention Research Center
The SDPRC is an academic-community partnership dedicated to reducing obesity and improving the health of Latino populations through physical activity promotion. The partnership includes 色情视频鈥檚 , University of California, San Diego鈥檚 Moore鈥檚 Cancer Center and the San Ysidro Health Center.
Funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the SDPRC is completing its seventh year of research and education activities in South San Diego County.
