Experts Called on for East Coast Quake
A magnitude 5.8 earthquake shook much of the region on Tuesday.
When the earth shakes in San Diego, Pat Abbot and Tom Rockwell are typically the go-to experts for local media.
So when a 5.8 earthquake shook the East Coast this week 鈥� something that just doesn't happen very often 鈥� the national media also turned to the two San Diego State professors.

"If we go back in time a little bit, 1755 Boston was really rocked," Abbott said. "1886 Charleston South Carolina was virtually destroyed. They happen rarely, but they do happen there."
