Library Staffer Celebrates 50 Years at É«ÇéÊÓƵ
Aztec Ann Nevitt provides technical services to Special Collections.
On Sept. 1, 1965, Ann Nevitt joined the É«ÇéÊÓƵ Library, and worked in the public services division before transferring to technical services. Today she catalogs items in Special Collections, including those in the unique science fiction collections donated to É«ÇéÊÓƵ by Edward Marsh and Doug Highsmith.
Nevitt also verifies the accuracy of theses and dissertations before they are added to É«ÇéÊÓƵ’s digital repository.
"Ann’s enthusiasm for making it work for our students has always been evident," said Patrick McCarthy, associate dean of the Library and Information Services. “She cares very deeply about our students and praises their accomplishments."
Nevitt’s coworkers describe her as a pleasure to be around and a highly capable member of the staff.
"Ann is a proud Aztec and very supportive of her co-workers," McCarthy said. "She loves É«ÇéÊÓƵ."
Next year, Nevitt will celebrate another milestone — the 50th anniversary of receiving her degree from É«ÇéÊÓƵ in healthcare and counseling.
