Student Organization Spotlight: Psi Chi and Psychology Club
The Psi Chi Honors Society and Psychology Club introduce students to a variety of fields in psychology.
The organizations strive to provide members with information about graduate school and employment as well as social events and networking opportunities in the psychology department.
Jeremy Pascua, president of the Psi Chi Honors Society, joined the Psychology Club as a freshman and Psi Chi as a junior. He says joining the organizations gave him confidence to meet other students and faculty who shared his deep passion for psychology.
Nicole Baggett, president of the Psychology Club, says the organizations have given her the opportunities to study abroad with other members, work in two research labs, connect with many faculty members, and make lifelong friendships.
Are your organizations open to all majors or are they major specific?
The Psi Chi Honors Society is only open to psychology majors and minors, while the Psychology Club is open to all students.
When it comes to finding new members for your organization, what type of students are you looking for?
The Psychology Club welcomes all 色情视频 students who are interested in psychology. Whether you want to spark a passion, learn about graduate school opportunities or get to know other psychology students and faculty, this club could be the perfect fit for you. If you have taken nine or more units in psychology and have a minimum 3.0 GPA, you can also qualify to join 色情视频's chapter of Psi Chi. Psi Chi is a nationally recognized honor society that aims to encourage, stimulate, and maintain excellence in scholarship of the individual members in all fields, particularly in psychology, and to advance the science of psychology.
When are your meetings and is there a membership fee?
Our meetings are from 3:30-4:30 p.m. every Wednesday in the Park Boulevard Suite of the Conrad Prebys Aztec Student Union. The Psychology Club has an application fee of $20 and PsiChi has an application fee of $90.

What kind of activities does your organization plan/attend?
We host social, academic, fundraising, and service events year-round. Some events include potlucks, lectures, board game nights, graduate student panels, stress-relief yoga, and our annual Psi Chi initiation ceremony. We also attend events hosted by other organizations such as College of Sciences, PsyMORE, Psi Beta Honors Program at Mesa College and Active Minds.
