Student Organization Spotlight: Aztecs Out in Business
Aztecs Out in Business mentors LGBTQ students interested in business careers.
Through the organization, members have the opportunity to take part in workshops, social events and networking.
The organization鈥檚 founder and president Alex Henriques da Silva B. said she founded the organization to create a space for LGBTQ students interested in business careers and to connect them with resources and employers who are specifically looking for top-performing students with diverse backgrounds.

We鈥檙e open to all majors.
When it comes to finding new members for your organization, what type of students are you looking for?
We鈥檙e specifically looking for LGBTQ students who are business, economics, computer science, math, or graphic design majors, or anyone who is interested in pursuing a career in business.
When are your meetings?
Our meetings are from 5-6:30 p.m. on Wednesdays in the Visionary Suite on the third floor of the Conrad Prebys Aztec Student Union.

What kind of activities does your organization plan and attend?
Our main focus is to host events with LGBTQ speakers who can share their experiences of being their whole, authentic self at work, and how that is beneficial to career success. We also host workshops on inclusivity and LGBTQ rights in the workplace, social events and preparing for LGBTQ business conferences. The next event we have on our calendar is a workshop we are co-hosting with titled "Career Opportunities for Business Majors." The workshop takes place on April 5 in the Templo Mayor room inside the Conrad Prebys Aztec Student Union.

I don鈥檛 know how to thank Tita Gray enough for encouraging me to move forward with the creation of Aztecs Out in Business and constantly supporting our team throughout the process. She鈥檚 an inspiration and an invaluable asset to this campus.
