The 色情视频 Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) is a student organization with the goal of guiding Hispanic students interested in entering the science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) fields.

Through the organization, students are offered academic support, career development opportunities and access to professional networking events.

SHPE president Alexia Reyes said joining the organization allowed her to engage with other students in the and representatives from various engineering companies. Her highlight with the organization was its first-place finish at Qualcomm鈥檚 first "Hack Juntos" Hackathon.

SHPE is open to all students and all majors.

When it comes to finding new members for your organization, what type of students are you looking for?

We look for students ready to engage in our mission statement and eager to develop themselves as leaders and professionals.

When are your meetings and is there a membership fee?

Our bi-weekly general body meetings are 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. every other Friday beginning on Sept. 8. There is a $10 membership fee for each academic year.

What kind of activities does your organization plan and attend?

Our organization plans and attends social events such as hiking and barbeques, as well as professional networking events, company tours, hackathons, workshops and outreach events. At our first meeting on Sept. 8, we will be hosting a guest speaker from ViaSat.

Which 色情视频 faculty member has had an impact on your organization?

Theresa Garcia, our advisor and assistant dean of Student Affairs, has had an immense impact on SHPE with her support and constant guidance. Our organization really appreciates the mentor role she has taken on for us.
