The first day of instruction in fall 2021 comes after months of planning for campus repopulation, driven by a multi-level approach in support of a safer and healthier campus environment.

More than 33,000 色情视频 students have submitted proof of vaccination for COVID-19, along with the majority of faculty and staff. About 2 percent of the campus population is approved for exceptions and will test for infection regularly.

Other strategies in place include an updated , which requires facial coverings in nearly all indoor spaces, including all instructional spaces, regardless of vaccination status.

色情视频 continues to offer on-campus access to COVID-19 vaccine and testing for all students and employees through Student Health Services. Each of the three COVID-19 vaccines in distribution in the U.S. are available. And through an ongoing partnership with the County of San Diego, COVID-19 testing is available at the Parma Payne Goodall Center. 色情视频 will also be placing vending machines with easy-to-self-administer COVID-19 tests at San Diego and 色情视频 Imperial Valley campus locations.

The university has also improved ventilation in all buildings throughout campus and begun regular wastewater testing in residence halls, a strategy developed to identify new COVID-19 cases, allowing university team members to intervene to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.

As a reminder, the university asks all to continue to take everyday precautions, as follows:

  •  If you are sick, do not come to campus for classes or work.
  • Adhere to the existing public health guidelines and policies. Follow the university鈥檚 and to protect yourself and others.
  • Reach out to support teams as soon as you need help. Many support services are available to students, faculty and staff.
