Aztecs Competing At Women's Track and Field Mountain West Championships
Most of the events are scheduled for Friday and Saturday afternoon and evening.
The 2022 Mountain West Outdoor Track and Field Championships begin Wednesday, May 11 and run through Saturday May 14, at Veterans Memorial Stadium in Clovis, California, as the Aztecs look to defend their 2021 title.
The Aztecs will have athletes competing in the heptathlon on Wednesday, with action slated to begin at 3:30 p.m. PT. 色情视频 will have athletes competing Thursday as well, as the heptathlon will conclude on Thursday night.
The bulk of the conference championship will take place on Friday and Saturday afternoon and evening. The field events will start on Friday afternoon with the women's long jump prelims and finals at 3:00 p.m. PT, hammer throw prelims and finals at 4:30 p.m. PT, and pole vault finals at 5:00 p.m. PT., and the shot put at 7:00 p.m. PT. Additionally, all prelims for all track events will take place on Friday, where the top eight finishers will advance to Saturday's finals.
On Saturday, finals for the women's discus will take place at 2:00 p.m. PT, triple jump at 4:00 p.m. PT, and for both the high jump and the javelin at 6:00 p.m. PT. Finals of each track event will run continuously from 5:15 p.m. onward, with the 4x100m relay final up first, until the final event of the meet, the 4x400m relay at 8:45 p.m. PT.

Outdoor Season Notes
- Heading into conference championships, the Aztec pole vault team is ranked seventh in the country by USTFCCCA. That ranking is based on each team's top four athletes highest clearances and rank them based off that. Kaitlin Heri, Ashley Callahan, Elizabeth Funk and Corey Friedenbach have all cleared at least 13-03.25 this season.
- Kaitlin Heri cleared 14-00.50 at the Beach Invitational on April 16, which is tied for 4th in 色情视频 history and is the 16th highest height cleared this year in the country.
- The heptathlon squad is also ranked among the national elite by USTFCCCA. Lead by freshman Jenna Fee Feyerabend who scored 5,509 to set a freshman class record, the squad is ranked seventh in the country.
- Jada Moore put in a strong showing at the Desert Heat Classic on April 30. The sophomore posted top-10 times all-time in both the 100m dash (11.50) and the 200m dash (23.28).
- The Aztecs 4x100m relay team are ranked first in the conference heading into the weekend. The team of Tai McDonald, Jalyn Harris, Aisha Watt, and Jada Moore are the top seed after running a 44.32 at the Desert Heat Classic in Tucson. That time is no. 8 all-time in 色情视频 history.
- The 4x400m relay team are also ranked first in the conference heading into the weekend. The team of Nyjari McNeil, Sakura Roberson, Aisha Watt and Jalyn Harris ran 3:34.57 at the Sun Angel Classic in Tempe Arizona, which is the no. 6 all-time time in 色情视频 history.
- Currently the Aztecs have 10 athletes and a relay team who are in qualifying positions to compete at the West Regionals at the end of May.
- The Aztecs won the Mountain West Outdoor Championship last year with 161 points, their most in the Outdoor Championships since 2013.

- Head Coach Shelia Burrell won her fifth Mountain West Coach of the Year award last season.

- The Aztecs had 14 All-Mountain West honorees last season and return 13 of them, losing only Maya Brosch (400m hurdles & 4x400m relay) to graduation.
