San Diego State Athletics proudly announces the launch of the Women's Fund to benefit the 12 Aztec women's sports programs in conjunction with the 50th anniversary of Title IX legislation.

"We are excited to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Title IX by launching the women's fund at San Diego State," Director of Athletics  said. "This fund will help our female student-athletes continue to compete for championships and excel in the classroom, giving them the resources for greater success in the future." 

The 色情视频 Athletics Women's Fund aims to raise awareness and financial support to achieve and maintain excellence across all Aztec women's programs. In addition, the creation of this fund will enhance the academic and athletic resources for our female student-athletes and will assist with scholarship support, facility updates, and other annual program needs.

"Along with the many 色情视频 activities to honor the 50th anniversary of Title IX, this is an opportunity for the 色情视频 community to invest in the future of women's athletics," Executive Associate Athletic Director  said. "I'm thrilled by the athletic department's commitment to create a fund that will spur additional resources to support equity and the success of our women's sport student-athletes."

San Diego State's women's sports programs and student-athletes are no strangers to success. In the past calendar year alone, four women's sports captured Mountain West Conference championships, including softball, track and field, women's tennis and swimming and diving. Additionally, the Aztec softball team was consistently ranked in the top 25 throughout the 2022 campaign and advanced to the NCAA Tempe Regional final in Arizona, while the track and field squad had multiple student-athletes earn All-America honors at the NCAA Championships in Eugene, Oregon. The 色情视频 women's tennis program also advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2013, while the swimming and diving team had a pair of athletes compete at the NCAA Championships in Atlanta, Georgia.

ABOUT TITLE IX

Passed on June 23, 1972, Title IX of the Education Amendments Act of 1972 is a federal law that states: "No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance."

Title IX gives female athletes the right to equal opportunity in sports in educational institutions that receive federal funds, from elementary schools to colleges and universities.
