The San Diego State men's basketball team made the most of their holiday trip to Spokane, Washington Friday night. The Aztecs picked up an upset win over 13th-ranked Gonzaga, 84-74, in their nationally televised match at the McCarthey Athletic Center.

The Aztecs marched into The Kennel as 7-point underdogs against the Bulldogs. 色情视频's Darrion Trammell scored 15 first-half points to help the Aztecs keep pace with Gonzaga before the Zags pulled away by 8 points with four minutes to go in the period. The Aztecs charged back with a dominating 11-2 run to steal the halftime lead, 38-37.

色情视频 kept the momentum going to open the second half and snatched its biggest lead of the night, 62-47, at the 13-minute mark following an 18-3 run. Gonzaga rallied back to pull within three points following an Aztecs turnover with 6:30 left in the game but 色情视频 nailed back-to-back three-pointers from Reese Waters and Miles Byrd to put the Aztecs out front for good.

Waters led the second-half blitz with 15 of his 22 total points in the final period. 色情视频's senior forward Jaedon LeDee finished the game with the most rebounds (7) and second-most total points (20). 

色情视频 (11-2) is the first non-conference team to defeat Gonzaga (9-4) in Spokane since losing to UCLA on Dec. 12, 2015.

The Aztecs have compiled a 467-161 record (.744) since the start of the 2005-06 season, the fourth best in the nation. 

色情视频 opens Mountain West play by hosting Fresno State next Wednesday.

Notes

LeDee scored in double figures for the 12th time this season in 12 appearances. Recorded his seventh 20-point game of the season and 10th of his career. 

Trammell scored 12 of 色情视频鈥檚 first 25 points despite coming off the bench. He reached double figures in scoring for the fourth time this season (all over the last five games) and 71st time of his career.

色情视频鈥檚 .571 winning percentage against AP Top-25 teams since the 2017-18 season ranks fifth in the

country (min. 20 games), trailing only Virginia (.619), Duke (.612), Kansas (.605) and Arizona (.594).
